My Mecca Experience !

Hello lovelies, I hope you are all doing well - I am currently on holidays (if you could really call it that) so I have a little bit of extra time on my hands and so I thought I'd write a post about my Mecca experience, well two Mecca experiences to be precise, one just afew weeks ago and the other a few months ago. I was going to do two seperate posts but I decided to combine and give a little review on my purchases as well so I hope you all enjoy :)

So, I shall start with Mecca purchase #1, which was  back in the beginning of May. I was going through a super stressful time and struggling to cope with my workload. I was trying to save as much as possible whilst coming up to heavy exams as well as just moving out of home - I found myself losing all motivation. Usually I would just take part in a bit of retail therapy however as I was trying to save I didn't want to go overboard, I needed something special to pick me up.

I found myself on the Mecca website admiring all the beautiful products, two in particular I had been admiring for such a long time and I had heard so many good things about both, the Too Faced Melted Lipstick and Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, that night ( it was a Tuesday) I decided to make an order - a Chocolate Bar Palette and one Melted Lipstick in the colour 'Melon'. I was so excited to finally be getting these products, I have always love the Too Faced brand however these two products were my first purchases.

The two products arrived Thursday, they had a tracked postage on them. It was a school day and that afternoon I had to work until 8pm, therefore having to wait even longer to see my new babies. When I finally did finish, I ran to the car and got home as quick as I could, they were waiting for me, and I was so glad that my house mates didn't open it on me or hide it or something equally ridiculous. I carefully opened the parcel and I was delighted by the two products I received, they were just as glorious in real life! My parcel also contained three sample products from Mecca but I am saving them for another post.
So I wanna talk about the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette first, and can I just say I have never been so blown away with an eyeshadow palette prior to this, it is so goddam beautiful! I can happily say it is worth every cent. The smell is so yummy and the colours are so pigmented and high quality, I found that
Even without the use of a primer that the shadows lasted forever! The palette is also a mix of both matte and shimmer shades and it's easy to create so many different eye looks with the palette!
Since purchasing, this has become my most reached for palette.

Next, the Too Faced Melted Lipstick. This was something that I was super eager to try after seeing so many people talk about it, there are so many colours to chose from and recently a Metallic series has also been introduced meaning an even broader colour range! I picked up the colour 'Melon' which is a gorgeous orangey-red colour which would be perfect for summer (although it's currently winter). The colour is super pigmented and really only needs the one application, I find that it's not super glossy either and it's not sticky whatsoever. The colour is super long lasting as well.

Now to move on to my latest purchase from Mecca, this time I did spend slightly more but still limited myself to products that I genuinely wanted.
This purchase also came with a complimentary sample box which contained a Stila Lip Glaze in the shade 'Gleam', a sample of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, which I have since given away as I have the full sized one, and a sample of the Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation, which I have not yet tried. Again, this parcel also came with three more samples which will be talked about in a later post, dedicated to samples.

So the first thing I wanna talk about ate the Stila Lip Glazes, I purchased the Floral Fixation trio which came with three shades - 'seashell', 'hibiscus' and 'tropical punch'. These worked out cheaper than buying them separate, so it was worth trying them out. I do find these nice and I really do like the smell of them,  but they are fairly sticky which is a downside, the packaging too is something which I believe could be improved as the elf lip glazes have similar packaging and is far cheaper as well, although I do like that you can see how much product you get etc.
Overall I do believe that these are nice colours and a nice product, however I do definitely need to watch my hair on them, luckily they don't leave a sticky residue on my hair!

The next product, the Too Faced Shadow  Insurance is another that has been well reached for. I had my doubts to begin with but it really does work really nicely, it makes the shadows so much more pigmented without having to use an excessive amount of product, it also is crease less! Which is absolutely awesome for all day eyeshadow, the best part is, you don't have to use so much product to get the desired result, therefore for the size and price it works out pretty awesome value!

Okaaayyy so the final product, for the moment at least, is the Too Faced Sugar Pop Eyeshadow Palette. This is a limited edition palette from Too Faced but it is super cute! Obviously the colours aren't wearable every day but they are still a great addition to any collection. I am a little disappointed that it doesn't smell like chocolate haha but it is absolutely amazing quality and I love the little card that comes with it which has three different looks each using three different colours - it's great inspiration.
I love the packaging, it's super sturdy and has macaroons on the outside which is super cute ! I have definitely become a huge fan of Too Faced!

And that is that for this post, I hope you all enjoyed - I am hoping to make some more purchases at Mecca soon (after tax back of course haha) but I will definitely be uploading more soon.

Life Update

Hello Lovelies, I am FINALLY BACK!

Most have you would have seen that I haven't been very active for a good month or so, this was for many reasons. which I plan to go into small detail soon.

I do sincerely apologise for my lack of activity and I can promise that there's plenty of blog posts coming soon, including a combined March and April Faves.

The main reason for my lack of activity was simply due to a lack of time. Since my last update, I have completed ALOT of assessments for Year 12 and worked ALOT of hours, upto 40 hours a week some weeks. This meant that I was fairly short on time, and it didn't ease up over my two week break from school. In those two weeks, I moved out of home and in with my Boyfriend. Moving was so stressful and I hated packing and unpacking with a passion, but now, finally things have started to settle and I am slowly managing my time even better and therefore having more spare time to do things like update my blog, etc.

Although during my break, I didn't have access to wifi, I still managed to draft some new posts with good old pen and paper, so I hope to upload those soon. I also plan to include more makeup posts on my instagram as well.

I hope to post more soon, stay tuned!

February Faves

  Hi Everyone!

I'm so sorry for the delay in this post, the past few weeks have been so insane!  I have literally not had time for anything.

Anyway its time for my February Favorites - These 10 products have been my most reached for this past month and I look forward to sharing them with you all. So hopefully you enjoy!

Again these products are in no particular order and the prices are based on retail value at the time, however unfortunately I could not find a price for some of these products

1# Chi Chi Rose Wall of Shimmer
~ I'm not gonna lie, I'm absolutely in love with this product! It's honestly just such a beautiful product, I love the packaging - it's just so sleek and glamorous. The wall of shimmer contains five shades which can be used individually or all together. This product retails for about $19.95, and is the perfect illuminator and blush all in one.

2# Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Volume Express Mascara
~ So this product is a fairly newish product to the Maybelline Mascara range and it's already one that I reach for the most. The brush is fairly large compared to others I own, however it works well to lengthen and volumise my lashes, for someone who loves big eyes this is honestly such a great product.
I love it!
This Mascara can be found for about $19.95.

3# NYX Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer
~ Ever since I found this product I have not used anything else for the dark circles I have under my eyes, it is my saviour! It is a fairly thick consistency but I have found this product to be the best one yet at concealing dark circles, not only this, but it's long lasting and can be found for around $9.95, such a good price for such a great product.

4# You, Me and Every Body Saving Face Hydrating Mist Toner
~ Okay, so unfortunately with this product I have no idea how much it actually is, I bought this off Catch of the Day and it came with two other products - if you are interested in purchasing this I recommend that you try Catch of the Day first as I'm unsure where else it could be purchased at. This product is fairly self-explanatory, it's a hydrating toner in a spray form. It honestly made my face feel so good though! I usually use this product at night along with my Garnier Micellar Water and it has made my face look so much more healthy. I highly recommend !

5# Australis Velourlips - SHANG-HI!
~ So I have been a massive fan of the Velourlips range since it was first brought out, but this month they introduced new colours, one of which was SHANG-HI! This colour, out of all of them, is probably my fave. I don't even know how to explain it really, it's a colour that goes with almost everything, it makes a statement without being too bold and like all of the Velourlips, it lasts a very long time! You can find all of these available for around the $10 mark.
Down below is a  photo of me wearing this colour

6# Mirenesse Secret Weapon 24hr eyeliner - Purple Rain
~ Again this is a product that I have no idea of the price, as it was another Catch of the Day purchase however they have since sold out. I first started using this product in the lead up to the Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask release (Feb 14) as I was doing inspired makeup. The colouring of this product is amazing and it stays bright and lasts all day. The applicator is easy to work with, it is definitely something to consider for anyone wanting to try something a little bit more out there.

7# Chi Chi Makeup Blending Sponge

~ Out of all of my February faves, THESE SPONGES ARE MY FAVOURITE !!!!! I literally don't think I'll use anything else for a long time, they honestly do exactly what I want and are sooooo affordable ! ($5.95) At the moment, I only have two, however I cannot wait to buy more. I 100% recommend these sponges to anyone, I used to use the Kmart blending sponges and I am absolutely kicking myself for not making the switch sooner - it is literally all in the textures of the two sponges, compare a Kmart one with one of the Chi Chi ones and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about, and believe me, it makes all the difference. It is worth the extra $1.95.

8# Australis "Oh Hai Brow" Brow Shaping Kit
~ There are many brow products on the market, but this one is one that I keep coming back to. The packaging is fairly simply and compact. Inside the kit there is two different brow shades, a highlighter, brow wax, tweezers and an angled brush. I use the darker shade of the two and I find that it is a perfect match. Even when I had purple/red hair, I still used this particular colour and it still completely matched-- my eyebrows weren't the same colour as my hair of course, but the colour still suited me. And now that my hair is significantly darker (basically black) I don't really feel like I need to change products as this one contains the perfect brown for me, no matter the hair colour. You can find this kit for under $20, however I'm fairly sure that this particular one was a priceline exclusive.

9# NP Set Eye Palette - Seattle
~ This isn't the only eye palette that I own from NP, however this month it was definitely a fave (featured in my last "face of the day" posts). I am always so pleased with the pigment of NP products, and this was no exception. The colours work so well individually or all together and last forever. Unfortunately I have no idea of the price of this product but if I find out, I'll let you all know. It is a  must have in my books,

10# Okay, so this product is my final fave for February and it is the NYX Butter lipsticks. At the moment I only own three of this range but I look forward to purchasing more. These lipsticks are so hydrating and super stunning colours. There is no extra products needed to make these colours stay, its all in the lipstick and its fantastic. Of the three colour I have, my fave would have to be "Snow Cap" as it is the perfect shade to make my lips nude. These Lipsticks can be found for around $12-13 and any of these colours would be a great addition to anyone's collection.

Alrighty guys, that's it for today's post. Again, I am so sorry for the delay, I will try to add more posts soon.

Hopefully you enjoyed

Face of the Day!

 Hi All!

Sorry for not posting recently, I've been super busy with work and school.

This post is dedicated to my "Face of the Day!" - I decided to be a little more extravagant today even though i was going to work. The weather has been so miserable and I had a lot of extra time on my hands, so some smokey eyes were in order!

Products Used:
  • Australis 'Oh Hai Brow' Brow Shaping Kit
  • Nyx Butter Lipstick - BLS03 - 'Snow Cap'
  • NP Set Eye Palette - 'Seattle'
  • Maybelline 'The Falsies' Flared Mascara
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer
  • Maybelline Matte Maker Mattifying Powder
  • Rimmel Match Perfection Radiance Foundation
  • Elf Cream Eyeliner - Black
  • Australis Brush On Mineral Illuminator
  • Nyx Blush - PB25  - 'Pinched'
  • Elf Maximum Coverage Concealer
  • Nyx Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer
  • Elf Eyelid Primer
  • Australis Conceal Correct 4-in-1
  • Australis Makeup Finishing Spritz
As usual, the focus of my makeup is on my eyes, so the base is fairly simple. I find that using the same brand off Primer and Foundation works better than using two different brands. This is not always  the case, but today it was.
On top of the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer and Match Perfection Foundation, concealer was used. The Nyx Full Coverage Concealer was used around my eyes, the Australis Conceal Correct in Green (literally the only colour I can use out of the 4-in-1 palette) was used for the red areas and the Elf Maximum Coverage Concealer was used over the top of the green concealer and a couple of other blemishes.

This was all set with the Maybelline Matte Maker Mattifying Powder. Next the Nyx Blush was applied to the apples of my cheeks. My brush picked up a fair amount of product and it was super pigmented, so to tone it down I buffed a little bit of the Maybelline Mattifying Powder over the top. After this, I used the Australis Mineral Illuminator on my cheekbones, just above my blush and also to my forehead around my temple area.

After this, it was time to start on my eyes. To give a nice, sharp finish I used masking tape on the outer corners of my eyes. Once this was done, the Elf Primer was used, then The NP Set Palette. The lightest colour (silver) was used in the inner corner which helped to brighten my eyes, the darker silver was used in the middle of my eyelid and the last colour in the palette (dark blue) was used in the crease and outer corner. After this I created small wings with the Elf Cream Eyeliner. The final components of my eyes was the Maybelline 'The Falsies' Flared Eyeliner, applied to both top and bottom lashes and the Australis 'Oh Hai Brow' Brow Shaping Kit used to fill in my eyebrows and highlight under my arch.

All of my makeup was set with the Australis Makeup Finishing Spritz and my lips were finished off with the Nyx Butter Lipstick in BLS03 - 'Snow Cap' which is honestly the best nude shade and so creamy!

And here is the final look !
Hopefully you all found this post interesting - please feel free to comment any feedback or anything you want to see.
I'll be posting again soon.

January faves !!!

Hi everyone!

As it is now February it means it's time for my favourite products from January.
So here's a few products that I love! (In no particular order). I have also included the prices of each, please note that they are based at the retail value at that particular time.

1# Maybelline Better Skin Super Stay Foundation
~ I most likely say this too much but I'm gonna say it again. This is such an amazing product! It has great coverage and improves the skin, I can't see it being replaced any time soon, I don't know what I would do without it.
Retail - approx $23

2# Maybelline Matte Maker
~ I probably talk about this product way too much as well, but it is just so good! Super Matte and super long lasting !
Retail - approx $12

3# E.l.f Maximum Coverage Concealer
~ For such a cheap price, I didn't think it would be good quality. I was so wrong! The Maximum Coverage Concealer has quickly turned into a fave, it's perfect for covering up the darkest of circles! Who can argue with the price tag of $8!

4# Rimmel Stay Matte Primer
~ This primer has a thicker consistency than many of my others, so I was a little unsure when first trying. However due to the thickness it works great on evening out my features. Usually I have an issue with the smell of the Rimmel face products, but this one is great!
Retail - $13.95

5# Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquer
~ Usually I don't like lip glosses, I find that they slip all over my face and go yucky, but I have been proven wrong by the Apocalips. They are hydrating, pigmented and long lasting! Best of all, they stay put!
Retail - $15.95

6# Australis Makeup Finishing Spritz
~ This spray makes my makeup last so well, it is a lightweight formula and comes in a 150ml bottle which lasts forever! The smell of it is fairly appealing too! As is the price of $14.95

7# Face of Australia Budge Proof Gel Eyeliner
~ The reason why I love this product so much is in the title, it's budge-proof! I can wear it all day without having to worry about it smudging or needing to reapply. There are a few different shades in this range, so far I have black and purple. This range can be found for about $9.95.

8# Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
~ Okay, so I am in love with this product. It retails for around $12-13 and is money well spent! Basically it replaces the use of any other makeup remover/face wipe. It cleanses the face and leaves it so soft and smooth while removing all makeup, dirt, etc. Without needing to scrub or use any other products. It is the perfect dupe for the Bioderma Cleanising Water which is significantly more expensive! I really do recommend this product to anyone!

9# E.l.f Clear Lash and Brow Mascara
~ I was recommended to try this product by a good friend and I'm so glad I did! This product can be found for $3 both on the e.l.f website and in most kmart stores. It's a duo mascara, so one side is for brows and the other for lashes. I find that the lash mascara is really good when wearing false lashes as it blends your real lash and false together so you can't visibly see the difference. The brow gloss is good for anyone who puts any effort into their brows, it keeps them in place all day and seals it so any product used on the brow won't smudge or go anywhere. For those whom have a strong arch in their brow, this product will help keep it in place for the entire day. It is well worth checking it out for anyone who wants to add an extra step to their routine.

My last January fave but certainly not the least is ...

10# Chi-Chi Glamorous Eyeshadow Palette - Nudes
~ This palette can be found online and in most target stores for around $22.95, however if you were looking fat getting two, Chu-Chi online has duo packs for $30 each. Which is way better value. There's so many different ones to choose from and they are a great addition to anyone's collection, they are super good quality and have a nice pigment to them as well!

So hopefully you guys enjoyed this post, sorry about the lateness.
Feel free to comment, let me know what you think!

Hi everyone,
Before I get into my post, I just wanted to share a life update with you all...

Yesterday my phone broke, the screen totally shattered. I was at school at the time and it upset me so much! Luckily I get it fixed tomorrow.

Anyway, so after this I was in desperate need of some retail therapy and just my luck because the latest Priceline sale started!

Today's purchases included:
- Australis Makeup Finishing Spritz
- Innoxa Summer Matte Lipstick ~ Fushia

Another re-purchase is the Australis 'Oh Hai Brow!' shaping kit, which is my #1 brow product right now!

Also a fave are the Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Cream range, thus why purchasing three more today. Now I almost have the complete collection, how  exciting!

As for the last few purchases, I am fairly keen to try them out, and will keep you posted on what I think.

I highly recommend checking out this sale; it can be found online and I store at Priceline and I can guarantee it won't last long, even I had trouble getting my hands on some of these products!

I think the best part about this sale is the fact it's not limited to just one brand. The Priceline sale features:
- 30% off Australis
- 40% off Innoxa
- selected Rimmel Mascaras $10
Plus much more !!

Hopefully you all enjoyed this post ~ stay tuned for a January Faves in the next few days!

Product Review ~ Rimmel Match Perfection Radiance Foundation

Hi everyone,

Today's post is a review of the Rimmel Match Perfection Radiance Foundation. This foundation was recently featured on my Drugstore Makeup Haul.

Since purchasing, I've used this foundation afew times - however it is not my fave.

The biggest issue that I have with this product is probably the smell, it is overly perfumed which may be an issue for those with sensitive skin.

I found that it didn't have the best coverage, but it is fairly buildable, and easy to blend!

It is definitely one of the more lighter foundations I own and would be perfect for the natural, "no makeup" look.

I find that this foundation is more suited to days that I don't feel the need to be fully covered, or even days where I'm not going out for too long.

I would definitely purchase this foundation again, however the perfume smell of it is a massive turn off.

I would recommend this foundation for those who like a lighter look, this foundation can be found for a great price!

I hope you all found this post interesting, feel free to comment what you think!
